The All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association (APCEA) organized a briefing on Wednesday to apprise media and think tanks about the potential and significance of existing and ongoing energy projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The briefing, titled "Infodor Salon on CPEC Energy Projects," brought together media, think tanks and representatives from seven key CPEC energy enterprises.

The consortium of seven companies included Power China Pakistan, China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Ltd, China Energy International Group Company Limited Pakistan Branch, China Power Hub Generation Company (PVT.) Ltd, China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Company, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, and Huaneng Shandong Ruyi (Pakistan) Energy (Pvt) Ltd.

During the briefing, the Power China Pakistan representative said that the company had been a pivotal driving force in the development of the CPEC since its debut in Pakistan back in 1987.

"Our investments in regional infrastructure growth, particularly in the domain of power plants, has been instrumental in transforming the landscape of Pakistan's energy sector," he said.

He said that the company had invested over $6 billion in CPEC energy projects and had created over 12,500 jobs. The projects are expected to generate over 10,000 MW of electricity, which will help to meet Pakistan's growing energy needs.

The China Power Hub Power Generation Representative said that the company's energy project in Balochistan had generated over 23 billion kWhs of electricity, which has contributed to economic development and tax revenue for the government.

The APCEA News and Media Director said that the association is committed to enhancing economic and social cooperation between China and Pakistan.

"We believe that CPEC is a win-win for both countries and we are committed to playing our part in its success," he said.

The briefing was a positive sign for the future of CPEC energy projects. The involvement of Chinese companies with a proven track record in the energy sector is a good indication that these projects will be successful. The creation of jobs and economic opportunities is also a welcome development. However, it is important to monitor the environmental impact of these projects to ensure that they are sustainable in the long term.

Overall, the briefing highlighted the potential and significance of CPEC energy projects. These projects have the potential to transform Pakistan's energy sector and boost economic development. However, it is important to ensure that these projects are implemented in a sustainable manner.
